At The Church Restaurant in Northampton town center Sue and Mike had planned to have the whole wedding ceremony and reception under one roof. This was a venue I was not familiar with and another reason why having a FREE pre-wedding session at the venue beforehand is a great idea. I do love a bit of history and this place was packed with it and some lovely features, however, it was very dark inside and I knew by the pre wedding images that I would need to mainly use flash on the day. I also realised the grounds outside were quite limiting, which, with a bit of organisation and foresight meant I could get the most out of it on the day.

Sue and Mike had chosen the half day collection which meant I met Mike and his best man at the venue first. Sue then arrived an hour later in the most amazing Beauford Grand Tourer, driven by Neil from Spirit Wedding Carriages Northampton. He was kind enough to stick around while the wedding took place and very gently drove the car off the road onto a patch of grass so we could get some better photos. Sue looked lovely in her dress from Shop for Brides in Daventry, the style suited her and the flowers from Spindleberry complimented the overall style.

As Mike and Sue only had me for half a day, so I had asked them to bring the speeches forward to before the meal, that way they fitted nicely into the package. I also did a fake wedding cake cutting as I was not going to be there in the evening… I was however asked to stay until the surprise entertainment had done their thing and for anyone who has seen The Three Waiters you would understand why it was worth capturing.

To say I was fooled by these guys was an understatement and I KNEW they would be there!! I didn’t question their waiter skills at all, I did however realise the chef coming out was part of the act. What I didn’t realise was the maĆ®tre de and waiter who had been milling around and organising all day were ALSO part of the act. When they started singing I had to pick my jaw up off the floor and boy could they sing! I had a job to hold the camera still as all their voices were so amazing and powerful they made me go all wobbly.

Thank you to Sue and Mike for letting me be a part of your special day. I wish you all the happiness in the world.

Until next time!
