Franklin’s Gardens, home to Northampton Saints rugby club was the impromptu venue for my last wedding of 2018.
Laura and Paul’s wedding was originally booked at The Racecourse in Towcester.
Unfortunately, they had a nasty surprise when it went into liquidation two weeks before their wedding day.
Thankfully, the staff at Franklin’s Gardens stepped in and took hold of the situation and when I met Laura on the morning of her wedding, she looked a lot calmer than I would have been.
Laura got ready at her parents’ home in Towcester before being driven to Franklin’s Gardens in Paul’s dads VW camper van.
I must also take my hat off to the venue for turning it around on such a tight schedule.
Everything went smoothly and having eaten the wedding breakfast myself, I can honestly say it was one of the best wedding meals I have had.
My only concern was that there would be nowhere “pretty” for the photographs!
We had already decided to take the camper van down to Upton Country Park, which was only a 5-minute drive away. Just in case!
However, I really didn’t need to worry! Thinking outside the box there were plenty of photo opportunities around the venue.
It did help that Laura and Paul are season ticket holders for the Saints Rugby Club. So, they really appreciated some photos of them in their seats and by the pitch.
Franklin’s Gardens even opened the tunnel for them!
We did go down to Upton Park after for a few country shots, but that was just the icing on the cake!
I wish Laura and Paul all the best for the future.
Until next time!
