It has been a long time since I graced the beautiful Horwood House in Bucks with my presence. I was originally invited there in 2003, to a James Bond themed Christmas party… Needless to say, all I remember from that night is the oak staircase and the long driveway.

It was lovely to see it in daylight last week for the pre wedding shoot of Simon and Sammy. I had no idea the grounds were so vast until we started to have a mooch around. I was quite impressed with the way it had been landscaped to incorporate different areas.

There was a gazebo, a wishing well, a pond and walled garden. Although we had decided to shoot in the evening, the sun was still bright, a little too bright in fact. Thankfully, we were only scouting out the venue for the big day, and hopefully the sun will be much lower by the time we do the bride and groom creative shots in three weeks time!

As usual we all found the pre wedding shoot invaluable. It was lovely to meet Sammy and Simon, to get to know them and work together before the big day. I hope this put them at ease. But I also find the information gained on meeting up much more precise than just the odd email.

I do like to be super organised beforehand, in my experience this makes the day go much smoother, than if I am trying to gain information there and then. My aim is to lead my clients into the photos they want, without being intrusive and bossy.

The work I do upfront to achieve this, let the couples spend more time with their guests on their wedding day. Instead of roaming around the grounds trying to find the best locations! If you would like to view my prices you can see them here

I look forward to seeing Sammy and Simon again at Horwood House the beginning of August.

Until next time!
